The once illuminated visual masterpieces of historical way-finding signage that graced our highways and city streets are being replaced with digital advertising. The purpose of this project is to investigate and chronicle early to mid-century outdoor signage that has been largely forgotten and is vanishing from the landscape. I have selected some of these signs, recreated them, and altered their messaging to reflect positive messaging of affection, love, and hope–perhaps when we need it most.
